Christopher McDermott, a substitute teacher who could only stand for short periods due to a medial meniscus tear and was looking at the possibility of not being able to continue teaching and providing for his 5-year-old child. He has been a basketball player all his life but after his medical issue his insurance company told him that he is out of luck. He had severe knee pain which lasted for 7 years. He couldn’t sleep and perform his duties. With his little 5-year-old he felt that he was never mentally present for him as a parent because of his chronic pain. One day he saw an advertisement of Patient Benefit Foundation and it turned in to a miracle for him as his prayers were finally answered.
